Provided critical Grant Fund Administration services to TDEM, helping Texans economically recover from some of the state’s most devastating disasters.

As a strategic advisor, helped TDEM transform the way it maintains financial and programmatic compliance, and coordinates with state agencies and local jurisdictions.

In 2022, helped Texas agencies and municipalities disburse over $1 billion, assisted more than 1,600 grant sub-recipients with documentation requirements, and processed 6,000 project closeouts through FEMA and state closure.

After experiencing significant technology failures and delays in reviewing applications for eligibility with its initially selected vendor, TDHCA hired CohnReznick to perform eligibility review services.

Within nine months, assisted more than 100,000 households by approving $555 million in ERAP payments.

Consistently received praise from TDHCA for consistent use of data analysis to expedite reviews and mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse.

With GLO playing a lead role in Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery efforts, administered through a $5.6 billion CDBG-DR program, provided a full suite of services to improve GLO’s effectiveness (training and technical assistance, policies and procedures development, program management, and eligibility and payment approval).

Served GLO as grant underwriter for its Affordable Rental Program, approving $450 million in federal funding which stimulated housing development and rehabilitation in Texas for those most in need.

Supported CPRIT with compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and technical support to grantees receiving state funds for over 600 active Cancer Research and Prevention Grants.

Helping CPRIT improve its operations resulted in voters extending the organization’s state research funding efforts, doubling to $6 billion the amount of bonds that can be issued to support it.
