CPA, Retired Partner and Consultant
Based in the Roseland, NJ office, Steven Schenkel is a retired partner and consultant. He is CohnReznick's former Chief Risk Officer where he was responsible for audit services provided to public and privately-held entities. In this role, he helped set Firm policies and procedures for audit engagements and was involved in client audit issue resolutions as necessary. Steven oversees quality control and audits for the Capital Markets and SEC practices as well as IT audits. He is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee as well as the Audit Committee.
Steven has an extensive background providing audit, accounting, and consulting services to industries that include real estate, professional associations, construction and general contractors, franchise operations, and manufacturing and distribution. He has responsibility for the Firm’s annual audit of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and related organizations. He is also a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee for the Center for Audit Quality.
Steven has lectured on auditing and accounting topics for CohnReznick's in-house continuing professional education curriculum. He has previously served on the board of directors for several not-for-profit organizations.
