Background
A cannabis company was looking to acquire a competitor and needed help understanding the supply and demand profile for the combined entity including understanding where there may be supply or demand disequilibrium on a product-by-product basis.
What we did
Built a production model showing the growing and harvest capacity for the combined entities, the impact of investment in new machinery and equipment in improving yields, and then matching this up with the anticipated demand using bill of materials across all SKU’s and product types.
Results
The client received a model that showed where there were projected supply and demand mismatches, taking into account an ever-changing product mix. This enabled the client to make optimum space allocation, and planting and investment decisions, thus maximize profitability opportunities through the acquisition.
