CPA, Partner, National Director of Audit
Timothy D. Brown is CohnReznick’s National Director of Audit. In this role, he is responsible for all Firm matters related to applicable audit standards. In addition, he is responsible for the understanding and adoption of new audit standards (both AICPA and PCAOB), the clarification of existing standards, collaborating with engagement teams on audit issues, responding to regulatory or proposed standards, working with the Director of Accounting to develop specific audit content, and technology and technical content changes.
Tim has more than 16 years of diversified public accounting experience with an extensive background in providing audit and accounting services to clients in industries that include life sciences, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, professional services, construction, and engineering.
Prior to joining CohnReznick, Tim was the lead partner of the public company audit practice at a Massachusetts-based regional accounting firm. He spent the majority of his career at a Big Four firm, five years of which were spent in its national office serving in a variety of capacities, including performing audits for public and private companies, designing and launching new electronic auditing tools, reviewing audit methodology, and acting as a liaison for PCAOB-related activities.
Tim is a licensed CPA in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. He has spoken for The Center for Professional Education, the Massachusetts Society for CPAs, and Financial Executives Institute on a wide range of topics, including revenue recognition, SEC financial reporting and rulemaking, and PCAOB and AICPA standard setting agendas.
