Philip Mandel is a partner at CohnReznick and has been with the firm for 32 years. He is focused on CohnReznick’s international and domestic growth initiatives including the firm’s affiliation with Nexia International. Phil has been on the International Board of Directors for Nexia since October 2020 and is currently the Interim Chair of its North America Region. Phil also served on the CohnReznick Executive Board for nine of the past 10 years as an elected member or ex-officio member. Phil is part of the team overseeing CohnReznick’s combination and integration with a three-office, 100+ person Massachusetts-based firm, and is on the leadership team for CohnReznick’s Innovation Office with responsibility for ERP selection and implementation.

Most recently, Phil was Chief Operating Officer for CohnReznick, managing and supporting the firm’s financial reporting systems, information technology, administration, facilities, Chennai, India operations, and Nexia affiliation. He has also served CohnReznick as Managing Partner of the Northeast Region, Office Managing Partner for the Parsippany, NJ office, and as the Financial Services Industry Practice Leader.

As an audit partner, Phil has provided accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to broker-dealers, hedge funds, private equity funds, investment management companies, and Registered Investment Advisers. His work included auditing year-end financial statements, assessing internal control procedures, and determining the most advantageous tax structures for clients.

Phil has been quoted in Accounting Today and was a lecturer on accounting topics for the firm’s in-house continuing professional education curriculum. He has served on various CohnReznick committees including the Technology and Operations Steering Committee, Profit Sharing and 401K Plan Fiduciary, and was a champion for the firm’s paperless audit initiative.
