Edward McNeil

Edward McNeil is a tax partner with over 20 years of public accounting experience as well as four years experience in private industry working in the tax department of a publicly traded environmental remediation company. Based in the Boston office, he services a wide variety of client groups including real estate (low-income housing tax credit, historic tax credit and affordable housing deals), large C-corporation (technology and manufacturing), not-for-profit organizations, and high net worth individuals.

Ed has extensive experience in tax planning and compliance for individuals, partnership, corporation, trusts, and not-for-profit organizations. He has provided clients with analysis and advice regarding applying for, maintaining, and complying with low-income housing tax credits. He has also represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue for various compliance-related audits and has given presentations to not-for-profit boards regarding the changes to the Federal Form 990.

Internally, Ed has been involved in the firm’s mentoring and recruiting programs. As the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s state tax committee chairperson from 2009-2011, he worked with other CPAs and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to have a better understanding of the unitary tax and non-resident partner withholding laws. He also oversaw the annual state tax conference which included introducing the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
