As a member of CohnReznick’s Government and Public Sector practice, Roman Castillo advises government clients on disaster recovery, grants management, and strategies to expedite program delivery while maintaining compliance with federal rules and regulations.
Recently, Roman’s team of disaster recovery professionals identified significant improvement opportunities to transform a statewide program designed to prevent evictions during the coronavirus pandemic. CohnReznick’s work on the program received high praise from stakeholders and the national media for its ability to meet quality, customer service, and executional goals while enabling the state to be the first to successfully distribute $1 billion in rent relief funds. Whether his team is implementing high-profile COVID-19 assistance programs for state agencies or helping local jurisdictions secure federal funding, Roman is committed to working collaboratively for an effective solution.
Prior to the pandemic, Roman was deeply involved in the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s efforts to monitor a billion-dollar portfolio of FEMA-funded projects awarded to the City of Houston for emergency protective measures and rebuilding infrastructure following Hurricane Harvey.
