Ravi Raghunathan, CPA, is a partner at CohnReznick and serves as the Firm’s Life Sciences Industry Leader. The clients served by the Life Sciences Industry Practice includes middle-market companies ranging from early stage and emerging growth companies to venture- and private equity-backed companies and later-stage publicly-traded companies.  Life sciences industry subsegments include drug development, medical devices, therapeutics, diagnostics, healthcare IT, Pharmacy, pharma and contract research organizations.  He has been involved in a number of due diligence projects, internal control assessments, going public and private transactions, secondary offerings, and other-SEC filings. He is also an active member of the Firm’s Technology Industry Practice. 

Ravi has more than 25 years of accounting experience and specializes in providing assurance services, including audit and review, for public companies and private companies looking to go public.  He is a top Firm resource on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).  He is frequently utilized in consultations with audit and non-audit clients on matters relating to complex accounting and reporting issues, including Firm clients with IFRS reporting requirements.  As such, he has extensive experience working with foreign companies with U.S. operations as well as with U.S. companies that conduct business abroad.

Ravi has significant expertise with complex accounting transactions and revenue recognition matters. He is a frequent author on topics such as revenue recognition, accounting for intellectual property, and other topics of interest to startup companies, emerging entities, and public companies in the life sciences industry.  He joined the Firm after working as an internal auditor for a company in the Middle East and subsequently working for a Fortune 500 company in India.
