Nathaniel Turner, PMP, CICA, is a senior manager with CohnReznick and a member of the Government and Public Sector Advisory practice focusing on the Emergency Management and Audit and Accounting business lines. He has over 16 years of professional accounting and auditing experience, including in the performance of final compliance reviews of federally funded projects to ensure compliance with FEMA and state regulations and the developed specialized compliance assurance procedures for significant and sensitive audit areas, including restricted and designated funds and associated budgeting processes. His expertise includes compliance and internal audits, compliance and monitoring, project management, disaster recovery, data mining, and financial audits. In April of 2019, Nate relocated from the Bethesda, MD office to manage the firm’s second Texas location in Houston.
Some of Nate’s notable engagements were assisting the state of Texas by serving as a compliance-monitoring contractor for Grant Administration for Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation grants dating back to Hurricane Ike in 2008, working on statewide program designed to prevent evictions during the coronavirus pandemic and most recently assisting the largest port in Texas secure “work-in-kind” credits to offset its local share for United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) funded channel expansion projects.
