As a senior manager in CohnReznick’s Government and Public Sector Advisory practice, Nathaniel (Nate) Turner, PMP, CICA, specializes in grant management and administration (GMA) and financial management. With over 19 years of professional experience, Nathaniel has extensive experience conducting final compliance reviews of federally funded projects, ensuring adherence to 2 CFR 200 and state regulations.
Nate’s expertise encompasses developing compliance procedures, conducting compliance and internal reviews, compliance monitoring, project management, grant management and administration, data mining, and performing financial compliance reviews. In April 2019, he relocated from the Bethesda, MD office to Houston, TX to lead its Government & Public Sector practice.
Nate is the Development Chair for CohnReznick’s employee resource group CR BLAC. The group’s vision is to foster Black representation on all levels and its mission is to provide sponsorship, mentorship, and support to drive fundamental change in how the firm recruits, retains, and develops Black professionals.
Among his notable engagements, Nate has assisted the state of Texas as a compliance monitoring contractor for Grant Administration for Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation grants since Hurricane Ike in 2008. He recently helped the largest port in Texas secure “work-in-kind” credits to offset its local share for United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) funded channel projects. Nate also worked on a statewide program designed to prevent evictions during the coronavirus pandemic.
