Matthew Derba is a partner in CohnReznick’s New York office and a member of the firm’s National Assurance Practice. He primarily provides technical accounting assistance to engagement teams and clients.
Matt began his career in private and public accounting in 2007, developing expertise in a broad range of industries and technical areas with a focus on lease accounting, revenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity transactions, derivative accounting, consolidations, and SEC reporting.
Matthew serves a variety of practice groups including Commercial Real Estate, Construction, Technology, and Life Sciences. Recently, Matt provided accounting advice and structuring assistance to a fund developing a large financing transaction with a large multinational company based in the US. He also developed an internal Excel-based lease accounting tool to help clients and engagement teams perform Topic 842 computations.
