Len Berkowitz is a partner in CohnReznick’s Tax Practice with more than 20 years of experience providing tax preparation and advisory services to the affordable housing and commercial real estate industries and venture capital partnerships. Len came to CohnReznick from MuniMae where he was tax director and principal. Over the years, he has performed tax analyses for as many as 200 affordable housing tax credit investor funds and several levels of upper-tier entities. He also has worked on underwriting models, counseled on tax compliance of investor fund entities, and was director of tax for MuniMae’s Renewable Energy Tax Credit business unit. He also served on MuniMae’s Sales, Refinancing, and Workout Committee as well as their Renewable Energy Investment Committee.
Prior to MuniMae, Len served on the financial services team at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), specializing in tax engagements for real estate and venture capital partnerships. While there, he provided tax preparation services for various segments of real estate and investment firms as well as tax analysis on tax allocations for partners in partnerships. Len moved to PWC after providing tax preparation services for low-income housing operating partnerships for a regional firm.
