James M. Kazmier, CPA/ABV, ASA, is a director for CohnReznick Advisory’s Valuation Advisory Services practice and is based in the Chicago office. He has been involved in business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support services, and financial consulting services for more than 25 years. His emphasis has been on valuation and litigation services with respect to privately owned companies, as well as providing consulting services to the owners of those businesses.
A substantial part of Jim’s time has been devoted to providing financial consulting and valuation services to attorneys, their clients and professional advisors. The valuations are used for income tax, gift and estate tax, employee stock ownership plans, shareholder disputes and other litigation. His valuation experience encompasses a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, retail, healthcare, construction, financial, and professional services.
In his current position, Jim is responsible for providing and overseeing valuation and litigation support services to clients across the United States. He performs valuations of business entities, business interests, various debt and equity securities, intangible assets and intellectual property.
Jim is a certified public accountant in Illinois and has earned the professional designations of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV).
