As a member of CohnReznick’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, Faith Gorman focuses on state and local taxation issues, primarily involving income/franchise and sales and use taxation. She advises clients on ways they can minimize the state tax impact of corporate decisions and activities. Her industry experience includes construction, real estate, retail, and technology.

Faith concentrates on state and local tax issues for multi-state corporations including nexus/jurisdiction for tax, economic and affiliate nexus, discriminatory taxation, unitary business principal, gross receipts definition, and apportionment issues. She represents companies in multistate tax audits and advises individuals changing residency to Florida, including handling state residency audits. Faith has been qualified as an expert witness in state and local tax matters and provides testimony at depositions and trials in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach counties.

In helping businesses restructure their management operations to minimize state and local income taxes, Faith. has successfully reduced large state sales tax assessments and frequently discovers overpayments of sales tax through her analyses. She assists on mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions with multi-state interests and negotiates with governmental authorities to secure exemptions for purchases of manufacturing machinery and equipment, often seeking tax incentives and tax credits.

Prior to joining CohnReznick, Faith worked in the tax practices of two Big Four firms. Her prior experience includes developing and expanding a multi-state tax practice in South Florida.
