Deirdre Power is a Certified Inspector General with more than 32 years of investigative and fraud prevention experience. She joined CohnReznick through the acquisition the Construction Monitorship and Public Sector Forensic Investigations Division from Exiger. While at Exiger, Deirdre was Managing Director and Practice Lead for the firm’s Construction Integrity Monitoring practice.
Deirdre has also served as the Assistant Deputy Inspector General, Investigations and Legal, at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), Office of the Inspector General (OIG). In that role, she assisted the Deputy Inspector General with planning, organizing, and overseeing investigations of criminality, mismanagement, fraud, and abuse in the operations of the MTA and its constituent agencies. She managed a team of attorneys and investigators, editing and approving investigative reports including the applicability of criminal statutes and MTA rules and regulations to specific conduct. She also created and implemented the MTA Office of Inspector General’s federally mandated integrity monitorship of the MTA projects funded by $4 billion in Federal Transit Administration grants. She also served the MTA as Deputy General Counsel.
Deirdre previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the New York County District Attorney’s Office with service in the Appeals Bureau as wall as the Criminal Trial Division.
