Daniel O’Shea is a partner in CohnReznick’s Not-For-Profit Industry practice. Based in the Bethesda office, he began his public accounting career in 1987, primarily focused on performing audit and other attestation services. His current responsibilities include engagement administration, team management, and practice development.
In addition to providing accounting, audit, and tax services, Dan consults on CFO advisory engagements as well as cost allocations, related entity structures, employee benefit plans, and exempt organizations tax issues. He oversees engagements that are subject to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133 audit requirements. His clients include national trade and professional associations and labor and charitable organizations.
Dan’s recent professional accomplishments include advising an association on available employee retention tax credits that resulted in $300,000 of savings for one fiscal quarter, developing a financial plan that allowed a NFP to save millions by terminating a costly defined benefit plan, and helping a NFP move to paperless environment to improve efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.
