Dan Fox is a partner in CohnReznick’s Bethesda office and is a member of the firm’s Employee Benefit Plans Practice. He has more than 20 years of accounting experience and has worked with corporations, general contractors, developers, low-income housing tax credit partnerships, and multi-family residential clients. Dan works extensively on employee benefit plan audits and 5500 reviews and oversees more than 50 employee benefit plan audits with total plan assets in the billions. These include defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, and employee stock ownership plans.

Dan’s responsibilities include risk assessment, internal control evaluation, developing audit procedures, engagement management, supervision, client communication, and engagement review. He has also provided financial and compliance audits which include financial analysis, financial and management reporting, re-engineering, policy and procedures development, strategy and planning.

As the senior technical leader of the firm’s National Employee Benefit Plan Practice, Dan has extensive technical knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, Department of Labor Regulations and ERISA requirements. He teaches continuing education courses on auditing employee benefit plans and receives more than 30 hours annually of employee benefit plan continuing education.

Dan was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plans Expert Panel for 2011-2012. He is also a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).
