Alex Hassinger advises clients involved with affordable housing and historic tax credit transactions. In this role, he collaborates with other senior team members to develop and evaluate transaction structures, provide tax compliance advice, analyze tax credit recapture or tax-loss reallocation issues, evaluate syndication options, and model financial projections. Alex has specific expertise in areas including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), tax-exempt (private activity) bonds, federal and state historic tax credits, and the federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program.
Prior to joining CohnReznick, Alex was a consultant to federally qualified health centers, providing guidance on NMTC financing. He also worked as a project manager for a multi-family housing developer and in asset management at a large, national syndicator of LIHTC properties.
