Pearlman joins CohnReznick as Tax Partner
New York, NY – February 3, 2023 – CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, today announced that Naya Pearlman, CPA, JD, LLM, has joined the firm as a Partner in its Tax practice. Based in New York, Pearlman has 19 years of experience working with privately owned real estate companies. Pearlman advises property owners, operators, and joint ventures investing in all types of commercial real estate.
Pearlman has broad tax expertise in partnership, corporate, and individual tax matters. Her areas of expertise include structuring inbound U.S. real estate investments and tax efficient exits; planning for tax-deferred arrangements, including involuntary conversions and like-kind exchanges; advising on complex partnership tax transactions, including partnership mergers and divisions; evaluating tax aspects of business transactions and reviewing tax matter provisions; reviewing waterfall calculations and distribution models; and tax planning for digital asset transactions, including cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Before joining CohnReznick, Pearlman was a Tax Partner for a major accounting and advisory firm. This experience included leading her prior firm’s cryptocurrency tax practice, opportunity zone investments, and other major initiatives impacting real estate clients. She also chaired their Business Tax Technical Committee and guided the tax department through tax law changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the new administration.
Pearlman is the author of several tax articles, including articles published in Tax Notes Federal and State, and has been quoted in Law360 Tax Authority. She has been honored by Crain’s New York Business Notable Women in Accounting and Consulting and was recognized by the New York Real Estate Journal in their Women in Professional Services Spotlight. In addition, Pearlman was honored as a New Leader of the Bar by the New Jersey Law Journal, and was nominated by her peers and recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Tax Law.
Pearlman is a New York Certified Public Accountant, a member of the New York Bar and New Jersey Bar. She earned her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law; LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law; M.S. in Accounting from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business; and B.A., Economics and Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College.
