Joshua L. Steiner is the Head of Bloomberg L.P.’s Industry Verticals Group which includes, Bloomberg Government (BGOV), Bloomberg BNA (BBNA), and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF). Mr. Steiner joined the company in January 2013 and is responsible for the strategy and operations of these subscription web-based services that provide legal, energy and government information to corporations, governments and NGOs around the world. 

Before joining Bloomberg, Mr. Steiner most recently served as a Senior Advisor to NBCUniversal based in Mumbai, India. Prior to this role, he was co-founder, Co-President and a Managing Principal at the private equity and asset management firm, Quadrangle Group LLC, where he focused on the firm’s media and communications private equity business. He shared oversight of Quadrangle’s public equity, distressed debt and asset management businesses. Before forming the Quadrangle Group in March 2000, Steiner was a Managing Director at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC.

From 1993-1995, Mr. Steiner was the Chief of Staff for the United States Department of the Treasury. In this position, he managed the Secretary of Treasury’s staff and served as his adviser on domestic and international policy, communications and operations. 

Mr. Steiner is on the Board of Trustees of the New York Public Library and Phillips Academy (Andover). He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He received a M.St. in Modern History from Oxford University and a B.A. in History from Yale University.
