Washington joins CohnReznick as financial sponsors and financial services partner
New York, NY – August 29, 2025 – CohnReznick, a leading professional services firm, today announced that Somer Washington has joined as a partner in the Financial Sponsors and Financial Services practice. Based in Dallas, Washington has two decades of accounting, auditing, and alternative investment experience.
A Certified Public Accountant, Washington provides audit and attestation services to the private equity and private credit industries with a focus on senior secured lending and debt. Her expertise extends to other alternative investment businesses including hedge funds, real estate funds, funds of funds, and investment advisors. Washington is recognized as a technical resource on multi-firm engagements involving foreign jurisdictions, providing audit and tax services for a range of asset management entities. Additionally, she has advised Fortune 500 companies on sales and use tax defense.

Washington joins CohnReznick from a Big Four firm where she was an audit managing director serving hedge fund and private equity asset managers. She holds an MPA in Accounting from the and a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin – Red McCombs School of Business. Washington is a long-standing member of Texas Wall Street Women, the Texas Alternative
Investments Association, and the National Association of Black Accountants. She is also on the advisory board for Paradigm Institutional Partners.
Washington is deeply involved with local and state-wide community organizations, serving on the boards of three not-for-profits: Texas Advocacy Project, Inc., STREAM Foundation, and Dodd Education & Support, Inc.
