As a partner in the Valuation Advisory Services practice with over 25 years of experience, Andrew R. Lines leads a group of appraisers across the country performing valuations for myriad purposes on a wide variety of real estate property types. The property types include residential, affordable housing, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and special purpose properties – landfills, waste transfer stations, marinas, hospitals, universities, self-storage facilities, racetracks, CCRCs, and railroad corridors. Andrew and his team are also recognized for their work performing market studies for affordable housing, as testifying witnesses for litigation and eminent domain projects, and for impact studies to quantify any perceived impact by adjacent uses.

Experience and credentials

Extensive experience in the valuation of leasehold, leased fee, and partial interests
Performs appraisals for all purposes including financial reporting (GAAP, IFRS, IRC), litigation (including Eminent Domain, bankruptcy, and partnership disputes), and gift/estate planning
Affordable housing experience includes market studies, rent comparability studies, and feasibility analysis for LIHTC and mixed-income developments
At his prior role, Andrew gained real estate administration experience for the residential multi-family REIT Equity Residential Properties Trust in the transactions department where he performed due diligence associated with the sale and acquisition of multi-family properties and manufactured home communities
Renewable energy assignments have included preparation of impact studies and testimony at local zoning hearings in over 20 states
State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Kentucky, Washington, and the District of Columbia
Previous experience with a major real estate valuation and advisory services firm, starting as analyst support in 2002 and leaving the firm as a director in late 2011
Cannabis assignments have covered cultivation, processing, and dispensaries across the country including due diligence for mergers and acquisitions of multi-state operational and single-state companies
