Michael Staub is a partner in CohnReznick’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Renewable Energy Industry practice. He focuses on providing services to utilities and large strategic investors, both of which have become increasingly active in today’s renewable energy marketplace. Michael has 16 years of experience providing assurance services to utilities, power companies and renewable energy companies across the country.

Michael has advised audit and non-audit clients on complex accounting issues including wholesale electric generation operations, business combinations, and adoption of new accounting standards. His utilities experience extends to multiple U.S. regulatory jurisdictions where he has assisted clients in the application of regulatory accounting for various state and federal rate orders.

Michael is proficient in SEC reporting and corporate consolidations, including accounting for business combinations and assets acquisitions, as well as PCAOB and AICPA auditing requirements. He has supported clients in presenting practical solutions to streamline organizations’ SOX programs to better align with their corporate structures and strategies. Michael is a licensed CPA in New York, Ohio and Illinois.
