John Van Stee, CFE is a partner in the Chicago office and a member of the Assurance practice. He has more than 24 years of public accounting experience in providing audit, accounting and tax services. John’s clients include affordable housing and assisted living developers and management companies, affordable housing syndicators, and not-for-profits.

Certified Public Accountant
Has extensive knowledge of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Programs
Has a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) that enables him to consistently provide outstanding accounting and auditing services to his clients
Works closely with his audit teams to lead and complete a detailed review of their performance and to assure that their time on an engagement is used efficiently
Maintains a strong working relationship with his clients to move the audit process through to satisfactory completion
