Nicholas S. Mathias (Nic) is a partner in the Charlotte office and a member of the Assurance practice. He has over 18 years of experience, with a focus on audit and attestation services. Nic has concentrated on tax incentivized real estate projects, renewable energy, housing authority, and not-for-profit clients. These services include financial statement audits, agreed-upon procedures, and the evaluation of internal controls, as well as keeping clients updated on industry and government required standards.

Extensive experience in evaluating and understanding complex ownership structures associated with his real estate and renewable energy practice
Expertise with principals of consolidation, lease accounting, contract revenue recognition under GAAP and other complex accounting concepts
Representative clients include a major affordable housing organization; a multinational construction and real estate company; a global financial services corporation; a leading renewables developer, owner and operator; and an investment firm
Works closely with audit associates in order to train and complete detailed reviews of their performance to assure proficiency on engagements
