Tom Greenawalt is a partner in CohnReznick’s Construction and Commercial Real Estate practices and has more than 35 years of public accounting experience focusing on clients in these two industries. Based in the Mid-Atlantic region, Tom works closely with the clients including general contractors, subcontractors, homebuilders, real estate owners, developers, and operators as well as architects, engineers, and suppliers. Tom also serves high-net-worth clients and family offices. He maintains a high level of personal involvement with his clients, providing tax and consulting services that are tailored to each client’s specific goals.
Tom’s services include entity and individual tax compliance and tax planning, as well as transactional tax structuring, succession planning and transfers of family businesses, estate planning, and operational business consulting on best practices, technology issues, banking and surety matters, and labor and overhead rate analysis. His clients are typically privately held but also include ownership through private equity and institutional investors. These clients operate primarily through domestic pass-thru entities with operations in a multitude of states.
Tom has served on several industry committees, lectured on a variety of topics affecting the construction industry, and provided both internal and external training seminars. He is a past treasurer and board member of the Mid-Atlantic Surety Association.
