July 20, 2026 – CohnReznick, a leading professional services firm, today announced that Michael Plostock has joined as a Director in its Government and Public Sector Advisory team. He brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, continuity of operations, risk management, and strategic planning at the highest levels of the federal government.  

Plostock joins CohnReznick from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) where he held senior leadership roles supporting some of the nation's most complex disaster response, recovery, and operational resilience efforts. As Deputy Chief of Staff in FEMA's Office of the Administrator, he helped direct business continuity and crisis management operations for a 22,000-person agency with a $30 billion budget during a period of presidential transition, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery and organizational stability.  

Plostock also served as Chief of Staff and strategic advisor to FEMA's largest operational unit, helping guide leadership through nearly 700 disasters nationwide. He also led high-profile recovery initiatives, including directing a 400-person team responsible for a $5.45 billion compensation program following the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire in New Mexico.
