Scott Walters provides expertise to CohnReznick clients on technical matters of financial reporting and SEC rules and regulations. Focusing on the interpretation and application of new accounting pronouncements and compliance requirements, he advises organizations to help them gain a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance and the need for transparent financial reporting. Scott’s industry experience includes biotechnology and life sciences, manufacturing and distribution, and technology and e-commerce. He works extensively with capital markets and SEC registered firms.

Scott has specialized in U.S. GAAP and IFRS compliance and SEC rules and regulations since 1990 as a member of the staff of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He provides technical consultations on the application of generally accepted accounting principles for complex and structured transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. 

Scott was previously responsible for financial reporting and oversight of all SEC filings of a DAX 10 Company and was a transaction and capital markets partner at a Big Four firm.
