Polia A. Nair has extensive experience advising clients on the application of complex Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and US GAAP financial reporting requirements. Serving as the National Director - SEC Practice, her experience encompasses a broad range of topics including IPO and other registration statements; pro-forma financial information; proxy statements and other transactional filings for mergers and acquisitions; reverse mergers with SPACs and operating SEC registrants; recapitalizations; and restructuring activities.

In addition to her extensive SEC reporting experience, Polia provides technical accounting expertise related to business combinations, consolidations, equity method investees, variable interest entities, share-based compensation; revenue recognition, impairments and fair value measures, segment reporting and others. She guides the Firm’s SEC practice through working effectively with major business stakeholders such as public and private equity sponsors, securities counsel, and underwriters.

Before joining CohnReznick, Polia served as Managing Director, SEC Regulatory Matters and Capital Markets, in the National office of a Big Four firm. In this role, she prepared thought leadership on SEC reporting matters and advised assurance partners on the financial reporting and disclosure for SEC- registered transactions for a wide range of domestic and FPI registrants.

Prior to that role, Polia managed audits of commercial SEC registrants of both global reach and middle-market size in a variety of sectors: retail, manufacturing & distribution, chemicals, refining, mid-stream oil & gas, software and professional services.

Polia is fluent in English and Bulgarian.
