With over 35 years of experience, John Alfonso has dedicated his career to helping make not-for-profit organizations’ missions possible. Serving in a variety of client service roles, John's clients have included community development corporations, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, museums, private foundations, professional and trade associations, and social service agencies.

Leader of the Not-for-Profit & Education Industry practice which serves over 1,700 organizations nationwide
Holds volunteer leadership roles in several nationally recognized not-for-profit organizations and is a 30+ year volunteer with the American Cancer Society (ACS)
Appointed chair of the ACS’s national Board of Directors in 2021 and prior to this, chaired its national Audit & Risk Committee and the Finance Committee
Received the ACS’s St. George National Award in 2014 and became an Honorary Life Member in 2022
Currently serves on the ACS’s Greater New York City Area Board
Former Member of Financial Accounting Standards Board’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee (NAC) and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and is the Treasurer of the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce
