Henrietta Fuchs and Catherine Syslo Honored as NJCPA Volunteer Award Recipients
June 18, 2018 – Roseland, NJ – Henrietta Fuchs and Catherine Syslo of CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, were chosen as recipients of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NJCPA) Volunteer Award. The list of winners was announced on Thursday, June 14th at the 2018 NJCPA Convention and Expo in Atlantic City and will be featured in the September/October issue of New Jersey CPA magazine.
The NJCPA Volunteer Award was awarded to individuals based on their significant contributions to the NJCPA, their local community, accounting students, or the public. The award recognizes the selfless work that CPAs often perform every day without going noticed.
Henrietta Fuchs, CPA, is a Partner who serves as the co-leader of the Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Practice in the New York office. She is also a member of the Public Company Audit and Employee Benefit Plan Audit practices. Henrietta provides review, auditing, and financial statement preparation services to CohnReznick clients. She is the chair and a trustee of the NJCPA Scholarship Fund and has mentored high school scholarship recipients for more than four years. Henrietta was named as an NJCPA Woman of Note in 2012 and 2016 and was also named one of NJBIZ’s Best 50 Women in Business in 2017. She holds both a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Catherine Syslo, CPA, is a Director of Quality Control at CohnReznick’s Roseland, NJ office. She specializes in audit of not-for-profit organizations including Uniform Guidance. She has over 20 years of experience in both the public accounting and private sectors. In addition to serving not-for-profit organizations, Cathy also has experience in audits for employee benefit plans, manufacturing, and professional service organizations. She has dedicated herself to increasing attendance at the NJCPA’s Nonprofit Interest Group, where she was a former leader, and at the NJCPA’s Accounting & Auditing Interest Group. Cathy also looks for ways to continuously present educational opportunities for members and has been involved in the planning and coordination of the organization’s nonprofit conference. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. John’s University.
