CohnReznick Receives Presidential "E" Award for Exports
New York, NY – May 21, 2018 – CohnReznick LLP, one of the top advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, was awarded the President’s “E” Award for Exports by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross at a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. on May 21, 2018. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. company or organization can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
“CohnReznick’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs,” said Secretary Ross in his congratulatory letter to CohnReznick announcing its selection. The ‘E’ Awards Committee was impressed by CohnReznick’s use of accounting principles and tax structures to protect its clients’ assets and reduce their risk. The Firm’s support of seminars and trade missions to promote exports and identify international opportunities for U.S. exporters was also noted.
Since 2009, CohnReznick’s Hartford, CT office has partnered closely with the Connecticut Business and Industry Association to survey the nearly 6,000 companies exporting from Connecticut – an export market for goods and services that totals $14.4 billion. The Firm’s support to the Connecticut export industry includes hosting and sponsoring numerous conferences, workshops, and seminars.
“The Hartford office of CohnReznick gives outstanding support for exporters and international trade in Connecticut. Their partners and experts have given a wealth of advice and guidance to the region’s companies and the US Export Center on international tax, compliance and cyber security. This is a well-deserved recognition of their expertise and efforts,” said Anne Evans, U.S. Department of Commerce Director, Commercial Services Division.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce for our work on behalf of Connecticut’s exporting companies, said Jim Kask, CohnReznick partner and Manufacturing & Distribution Industry Leader. “Our goal is to help clients realize their growth objectives, whether domestic or international. In collaboration with the U.S. District Export Council, we have been able to help many companies expand their opportunities and increase sales.”
U.S. companies are nominated for the President’s “E” Awards through the U.S. Commercial Service, part of the Department’s International Trade Administration. In total, Secretary Ross honored 43 U.S. companies and organizations from across the country for their role in strengthening the U.S. economy by sharing American ingenuity outside of our borders.
