Rony Rodriguez is a tax partner at CohnReznick. He serves as the National Leader in REIT Tax Services in the Firms’ Commercial Real Estate Industry practice. Rony has more than 20 years of diversified public accounting experience with an extensive background in advising real estate clients, including private and public equity and mortgage Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) as well as private equity real estate funds.
Rony has assisted his clients with a variety of tax issues including entity structuring, REIT Mergers and Acquisitions, qualification, REIT conversions, acquisition and sale of REIT shares/properties, complex partnership issues, and unrelated business taxable income (UBTI) planning.
Prior to joining CohnReznick, Rony worked at a big four accounting firm’s real estate tax practice.
In addition to his real estate experience, Rony has an extensive background working with investment partnerships consisting of hedge funds and private equity funds. His experience includes consulting on operational, transactional, and tax issues in the financial services industry.
