Karen Smith Elected Treasurer of National Leased Housing Association

BOSTON, MA – CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firms in the United States, is pleased to announce Karen Smith, CPA, has been elected as Treasurer of the Board of the National Leased Housing Association (NLHA), a national organization that serves both private and public participants in the affordable multifamily rental housing industry.

A partner in the Firm’s Boston, MA office, Karen is a member of the Affordable Housing Industry Practice with more than 25 years of experience providing audit, tax, and management advisory services to various types of real estate entities and not-for-profit organizations. CohnReznick has one of the most extensive and experienced affordable housing industry practices in the United States. The Practice helps to shape policy, connect people, and translate best practices into client and investor outcomes that improve the quality of life for entire communities. Bob Moss, CohnReznick Principal and National Director of Governmental Affairs, serves as Vice President of NLHA’s Board.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Akron. She specializes in affordable housing and serves clients that include developers, investors, for-profit and not-for-profit owners, management companies, and mortgage companies. Karen has worked in many different areas of the real estate sector, including affordable housing, market rate conventional housing, nursing homes, and multifamily lenders under FHA programs.
