Joseph A. Wallace
Joseph A. Wallace, CPA, is a partner with CohnReznick’s Charlotte office and a member of the Firm’s Tax Practice. He has over 17 year of public accounting experience with a specialized focus on the affordable housing industry. He has worked with all manner of clients within the industry from a developer with a single project to developers with hundreds of projects. He has also worked with syndicators so he has an understanding of the industry from all directions. Joe has experience in the entire lifecycle of an affordable housing project as he has worked on structuring on the front end, tax compliance during operations, and consulting on the back end with either a property sale or a buyout of the investor. He has also worked on affordable housing projects that include challenging structuring issues including low-income – historic combinations deals, state tax credits, land grants, and capital account problems.
Joe’s responsibilities at CohnReznick include the planning, preparation, and review of tax and consulting engagements. He spends time consulting with clients on questions they have on both structuring and compliance and works proactively with client to come up with solutions on their jobs. He is responsible for training, supervising, and mentoring associates and he helps create and update the processes and work papers used within the Tax Practice.
Joe has served such clients as Mercy Housing, Inc.; U.S. Bank; Wells Fargo Funds; Gatehouse Management; and Picerne Development.
