The headline-grabbing news across all economic sectors has been the surprising Brexit vote. While the ultimate resolution remains to be seen, it was clearly a significant historical and political milestone. In strictly financial terms, however, the world’s markets, true to their self-correcting nature, seem to be absorbing the event with brief, global flutters of investment uncertainty, which will most likely segue into a sustained period of general re-stabilization.

Hotels: As Increased Competition Looms, a Race for Loyalty

At first glance, the hospitality industry is just one more sector fixated on millennials, as hotels race to provide millennial-friendly amenities like emoji room service menus and turn twentysomething customers into social media ambassadors with ready-to-go-viral video content. (This amenities-and-marketing onslaught is similar to what is found in many a multifamily property—not surprising, since hotels are essentially apartments with one-day lease terms.)
