Nair joins CohnReznick as assurance partner; expands SEC reporting capabilities

New York, NY – November 16, 2021 – CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, today announced that Polia A. Nair, CPA, CFA has joined the firm as Partner in its National Assurance Practice. Based in the Bethesda, Maryland area, Nair has nearly two decades of experience advising clients on the application of complex Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and US GAAP financial reporting requirements.

Nair’s experience encompasses a broad range of topics including IPO and other registration statements; pro-forma financial information; proxy statements and other transactional filings for mergers and acquisitions; reverse mergers with SPACs; recapitalizations; and restructuring activities. In addition to her extensive SEC reporting experience, she provides technical accounting expertise related to business combinations; share-based compensation; revenue recognition; consolidations and variable interest entities. She excels at working with major business stakeholders such as investors, private equity sponsors, securities counsel, and underwriters.

Before joining CohnReznick, Nair served as Managing Director, SEC Regulatory Matters and Capital Markets, for a major advisory, assurance, and tax firm. In this role, she was responsible for preparing thought leadership on SEC reporting matters and advising assurance partners on the financial reporting and disclosure for SEC-registered transactions of a wide range of domestic and FPI registrants.

Nair earned an MBA in Finance from the Fox Business School at Temple University and a BA in Accounting from Beaver College at Arcadia University. She is a CPA and CFA.
