Chase joins CohnReznick as Transaction Advisory Services Principal

New York, NY – June 4, 2021 – CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading advisory, assurance, and tax firms in the United States, today announced that Richard S. Chase has joined the firm as a tax principal in its rapidly growing Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice. Based in Chicago, Chase has extensive experience as a tax specialist and attorney in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, and tax structuring.
Chase brings to CohnReznick extensive knowledge of the tax due diligence and tax structuring processes. He has evaluated the tax risks associated with more than 1,500 proposed merger and acquisition transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) with deal sizes ranging from $5 million to more than $5 billion. His expertise spans across a broad range of industries including automotive, consumer products, technology, health care, pharmaceutical, energy, real estate, financial services, media/marketing, manufacturing, retail services, construction, chemical, logistics, and food and beverage.

Before joining CohnReznick, Chase served as Managing Director – Transaction Tax Advisory Services Leader for a multinational financial consultancy firm, helping that firm’s TAS tax group grow by 500%. In this role, he oversaw federal/state income taxes, sales/use taxes, property taxes, payroll taxes, escheat/unclaimed property, and foreign tax risks for more than 1,500 proposed transactions. Previously, he also worked for a large private equity firm, helping manage more than 100 portfolio investments from a tax perspective.
Chase earned a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
