20 years: We will never forget
I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was in my office in Bethesda, Maryland, a mere 18 miles from the Pentagon building, when the third plane struck. It wasn’t until later that I found out the heartbreaking news that a former colleague, a CohnReznick alum, was on that very plane.
On September 11, 2001, our nation faced the unimaginable horror of a massive terrorist attack. We never thought it could ever happen in the United States, but it did. Though 20 years have since passed, the impact of the devastating event our nation experienced that day cannot be lessened with time. We will always remember. We can never forget.
For those who lost family members, friends, or business associates because of this tragedy, please know that you are in my thoughts and hold a special place in the hearts of people all over the world. Today, we mourn the loss of life from the tragic events of 9/11 and honor the sacrifice and heroism of our first responders, service members, and their families over the 20 years that followed. Let us all remember and commemorate the acts of humanity and service that rose out of the darkness of that day.
