Patrick J. O’Keefe Discusses September Labor Report in the Media
On October 5, the Department of Labor announced that the U.S. economy added 114,000 jobs last month, while the unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent.
Patrick J. O'Keefe, director of economic research at J.H. Cohn, is speaking to several media outlets about the report.
In U.S. News, Pat said, "The recovery has been remarkable for the extent to which it has been concentrated among a relatively few industries," pointing to healthcare and business and professional services as industries that have reliably added jobs in the recovery.
In the New York Times, Pat stated, "The economy seems since the recovery began to have three gears, slow, idle and reverse. It's stuck in slow. We don't have a gear faster than slow."
